Fard, also called Wallace Fard Muhammad, or Walli Farrad, who is said to be the original founder of the Black Muslim movement. In 1930, Fard founded a mosque in Detroit, marking the what many believe to be the actual beginning of the Nation of Islam. In 1934, Fard disappeared and Elijah Muhammad became the mosque's leader.
