Edgar Hoover called John Dillinger "public enemy number one" after committing a series of crimes with "Baby Face" Nelson and "Pretty Boy" Floyd. The files covers FBI attempts to find and events leading  p to the death of John Dillinger on July 22, 1934, when he grabbed for his gun and was shot by FBI Special Agents as he left the Biograph Theater in Chicago, Illinois.
